The skiing area of Alta Badia provides perfect conditions for skiing from December to April. Alta Badia is one of the most famous skiing areas of the Alps and it offers 53 state-of-the-art lift facilities, 130 km well-groomed slopes and it lies in the centre of the worldwide largest ski carousel of Dolomiti Superski. It also offers direct access to the renown Sellaronda.
Every night the slopes are perfectly groomed by numerous snow-groomers. The most famous slopes of the area are the Gran Risa at La Villa, the black slope Vallon-Boè of Corvara and the panoramic slope at the Lagazuoi, which are all quite challenging, but provide fantastic views.

Alta Badia has a long tradition as far as cross-country skiing is concerned. The cross-country ski legend Maria Canins, winner of the Vasaloppet, the most famous cross-country ski race of the area, as well as the junior athlete Debora Agreiter, originate in this area. Moreover there are a large number of qualified cross-country ski instructors teaching in the area of San Cassiano/Armentarola.
